The role is to fill under Laurentian Bank a subsidiary of the Laurentian Bank Financial Group.

This role can be located anywhere in Canada (Remote or Hybrid if Montreal / Toronto).

The Senior Advisor, Regulatory Risk Management, is a key resource for the second line of defence team responsible for administering the enterprise wide compliance programmes of Laurentian Bank Financial Group (LBCFG).

Under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President, Regulatory Risk Management, this person will be responsible for conducting second line of defence testing, data analytics and internal reporting, including the development of data dashboards for internal audiences.

Responsibilities

º Lead and coordinate the Executive and Board reporting process for Compliance across LBCFG.

º Coordinate the design and execution of the enterprise wide compliance reporting of the Chief Regulatory Risk Management Officer.

That includes preparation, data extraction, task assignment, compilation and consolidation of the report inputs.

º Lead the preparation of materials for the annual attestation of the Chief Regulatory Risk Management Officer.

º Create and maintain metrics to track progress of review activity to annual test plans. Create and maintain tools to assess team performance and efficiency.

º Update, optimize and maintain team policies and procedures.

º Influence direction for managing regulatory non compliance risk to ensure buy in of the parties.

º Assist in the development of dashboards with identified KRI's as appropriate for oversight of Compliance Risk.

º Create insights through thoughtful data reporting and analytics.

º Ensure that entries in the Regulatory Risk Management System meet RRM standards and provide effective challenge where required to ensure the system is maintained and updated appropriately.

º Support the lines of business with their enquiries on regulatory matters, action plan follow ups and various other matters as needed.

º Manage information generated or sent by business units (e.g., issue tracking, action plans, training, 1st line self assessments, responses to second line compliance testing performed, etc.)

º Proactively monitor and participate in various enterprise wide regulatory initiatives.

º Perform all tasks of similar or general nature requested by his or her superior or required for the job.

Qualifications

Bachelor university degree in Finance or related field.

º 3-5 years related Board / Exco reporting experience in compliance or risk management, or within Lines of Business

º Advanced knowledge of Excel (VBA), PowerPoint and Access is desirable

º Strong written and verbal communication skills including a demonstrated ability to clearly provide written reports that accurately and clearly summarize and

  • present solutions in an understandable and logical manner;
  • º Strong skills in analytical and information management analysis, data interpretation and problem solving ability

    º Excellent knowledge of English and French, spoken and written prefered.
