What You Will Do
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for providing financial reporting and analysis on a monthly basis.
This will include development of monthly consolidated financial statements and various financial and account analysis. This role will also provide analytical support within the Finance team during the month end, budget and planning processes.
In addition, this role will ensure the integrity of the financial statements, compliance with US GAAP and Stryker accounting policies.
This individual must serve as a contributing member of the Finance team while championing Stryker’s Mission and Values.

Initiate business partnerships with business operations and commercial leaders to provide key financial guidance to the teams

Functional Responsibilities :
Preparation and analysis of monthly management reporting for financial results in assigned functional areas including Balance Sheet, P&L, and Cash Flow reporting
Partnering with Corporate Accounting, Corporate FP&A, Tax and Shared Services to ensure monthly activity is accounted for timely and accurately, and to complete variance analysis
Lead the consolidation of Stryker Canada financial results; monthly, quarterly, and annually
Obtain supporting schedules and analysis from cross-functional teams to record monthly activities within month e.g.; freight, meetings, Concur expenses.
Follow-up with respective cost owners to understand and challenge unusual fluctuations or variances
Participates in annual Sarbanes Oxley testing of internal controls
Perform detailed review and analysis of the monthly reporting of financial results by business unit and overall Canada; including Balance Sheet, Profit and Loss, and Cash Flow reporting
Assist with developing the balance sheet and cashflow assumptions for budgets, forecasts, and strategic plans. Work collaboratively with FP&A to ensure alignment with assumptions and corporate timelines
Validate monthly Communication (Endoscopy) project activity with project teams & customer service while ensuring revenue recognition standards compliance
Key member on acquisition integration projects and legal entity amalgamations or restructuring initiatives.
Assist in recommending budget / projection adjustments based on historical financial performance & in-depth analytics
Special projects as assigned; such as CER management & review, cost reduction initiatives (CTG), non-inventory supplier RFPs
Develop Excel templates / financial models for process improvement
Other duties as assigned by Finance Manager, such as ad-hoc analysis and information requests from business unit leaders
What You Need
University Degree required. Preferred concentration in accounting / finance.
Professional accounting designation CPA (CA, CMA, and CGA) required
3+ years of finance / accounting experience required
Knowledge of Oracle ERP and Hyperion Financials or similar systems would be an asset
Strong MS Excel & Power BI skills (designing, building and maintaining files) and attention to detail
Solid understanding of accounting principles, procedures, and their applications
You will need to live within commuting distance to our Waterdown, Ontario office. You will need to be in the office 2-3 days a week, but you will have the flexibility to work from home on the other days.
