The HR Generalist is responsible for a range of duties enabling the Human Resources department to deliver best practices and solutions that support regional operations.

The role is critical in ensuring we are hiring the best possible talent by networking through industry contacts, employees, college recruiting initiatives, and career fairs.

The HR Generalist will liaise with managers and employees at all levels of the organization in the areas of HR legislation and policy, performance management, and recruitment.


  • Administer the recruitment process for assigned region
  • Advise managers on interpretation and administration of HR policies, programs and procedures
  • Provide consultation to people managers regarding employee relations issues
  • Assist with processing of terminations
  • Investigate employee concerns and ensure follow through from beginning to end
  • Ensure compliance with all federal and provincial legislation, regulations and standards
  • Build sustainable relationships that create synergies internally and externally
  • Administer progressive disciplinary action in accordance with established procedures
  • Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data
  • Requirements

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resource Management or equivalent
  • Minimum two years' experience in a HR Generalist or HR Business Partner capacity
  • Strong background in recruitment
  • Knowledge of current trends, principles and developments in the Human Resources field
  • Ability to interpret and apply provincial employment legislation and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills both verbal and written
  • Proven conflict resolution, negotiation and relationship building skills
