The TELUS Friendly Future Foundation, the philanthropic organization created by TELUS, is committed to helping youth bridge the social and digital divides that can prevent them from reaching their full potential.
This is a new position focused specifically on fundraising for the TELUS Friendly Future Foundation.
As the Senior Fund Development Manager (SFDM) reporting to the National Director - Community Investment and the Executive Director of the TELUS Foundation you will be instrumental in the development of innovative fundraising strategy and tactics geared to engage various stakeholder groups both within TELUS and external audiences.
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the SFDM will serve as a fundraising strategist, an operational leader and an expert in fundraising norms;
acting as a second in command within the TELUS Foundation. The SFDM will work closely with the Executive Director of the Foundation to support the vision of the Board of Director to create growth and enhanced support for charities & programs that help vulnerable populations.
In addition, this positon will work with senior community investment staff to create internal excitement and develop opportunities for internal team member engagement in the TELUS Foundation.
Our incoming SFDM will support the Executive Director in driving all aspects of the revenue development strategy, including planning, implementation and evaluation of the Annual Giving, Major Giving and Planned Giving and events streams.
As a talented relationship broker, our SFDM will also create and manage his or her own portfolio of key Major and Planned Giving prospects.

Foundation Vision & Strategy :
Work with the ED to establish and execute long- and short-term strategic donor lists
Priorities aimed at developing new innovative fundraising programs and maximizing engagement and giving from existing Foundation programs, these include but are not limited to : Annual Appeal, Major Giving, Endowment Campaign, Special events, Community Engagement as well as Corporate sponsorships and Foundation giving
Contribute to the development of novel campaign strategies for current and future campaigns
Provide support, mentoring, coaching and encouragement to Foundation staff, Board Members, Community Investment staff and volunteers who are involved in fundraising activities
Tactical Leadership :
Determine appropriate goals and metrics for fundraising programs; monitor and report on progress against goals and on the key activities of fundraising programs, initiatives and staff
Support Community Investment staff and program leads to facilitate alignment, integration and coordination of Foundation programs to maximize donor engagement and fundraising results
Ensure that all fundraising programs and activities fall within ethical, fiscal, and legal standards, and within Foundation policies and regulations
Maintain relationships with other philanthropy professionals to ensure ongoing knowledge of best practices and to benchmark the Foundation's performance
Foster collaboration between the Foundation and our corporate community investment programs to allow for integration of programs in support of collective goals where possible
Develop and implement metrics based performance measurement modalities to track program success
Effectively create opportunities, prepare and support the Executive Director and Board Members through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship processes and strategies
Develop overall fund-raising objectives, as well as specific goals for members of the development team with plans to measure and ensure success
Cultivation & Solicitation :
Manage and solicit a portfolio of $25,000+ major gift prospects
Support the ED and BOD strategy and solicitation of all key gifts
Support the ED in augmenting and enhancing Board involvement in prospect pipeline development and moves management
Provide support, mentoring, coaching and encouragement to Board Members, and volunteers who are involved in fundraising initiatives
Strengthen existing donor relationships while also increasing the donor base through acquisition of new supporters and sources of funding
You're the missing piece of the puzzle
You have a current CRFE designation and at least 7 years of fundraising in a large charity; Endowment campaign experience and management experience working directly with high value donors / board member is a plus
You have a proven track record of soliciting and closing gifts of all sizes including six-figure gifts and you work well under the pressure of tight timelines
You are fluent with Raiser's Edge
