As a Design Director to work across a portfolio of externally developed games, improving core game-play, and systems design.

In this role, you will contribute experience shipping multiple games across different genres in senior design roles. You'll effectively balance the need for game-play innovation and quality all while understanding production cost and play-test feedback.

At the same time, you'll demonstration a passion for prioritizing what matters most to the players.

Stadia is Google’s premier Video Game platform, designed for everyone. We are working on custom built hardware and rapidly evolving open source technology to deliver a seamless gaming experience across multiple devices.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with external game development studios to ensure that game design takes full advantage of Stadia and other Google technology.
  • Align game design pillars behind approved vision and product goals and continually support development towards effective execution of what will be best for the player.
  • Ensure that developers has access to our UX research, playtest, and other required data to ensure quality risks are identified and mitigated.
  • Play competitive games, anticipate industry trends, and create presentations to communicate relevant information throughout the Stadia and partner teams.
  • Ensure that Stadia’s content strategy is reflected in the game design choices and that social features that will support the growth of positive communities have been prioritized.
  • Minimum qualifications :

  • 7 years of experience working on AAA games in senior game design roles.
  • Experience with single and multiplayer game-play, systems design, and how they interact with each other.
  • Experience working with engineers, game designers, and artists.
  • Experience in game design theory.
  • Preferred qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in game design or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience working with data analysis and working with data analysts and user research to prioritize feature requests research to prioritize feature requests and iterate design.
  • Experience with free-to-play games.
  • Ability to lead, collaborate, and influence with and without formal authority. Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to take initiative and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment and remain focused amidst frequently changing requirements.
  • Passion for making great video games.
