The job of specialized maintenance foreman mainly involves the performance of management of activities related to the curative and preventive maintenance of commission facilities by a team of qualified workers, particularly in the following fields : electricity, plumbing, carpentry, painting, mechanics and conservation of energy.

This job consists of assuming, within its field of competence, an advisory role with the managers of the school board to promote optimal management of maintenance services.

This job involves mainly the exercise of the following responsibilities :

  • Participate, upon request, in the development and updating of policies, systems, standards and procedures relating to its sector of activity and ensuring their application;
  • Participate in the analysis of needs in terms of curative and preventive maintenance of the physical and material installations of the commission and in the establishment of a preventive maintenance system;
  • Participate in determining maintenance work priorities and assessing costs;
  • Determine the work schedule maintenance, assign the necessary personnel and check availability materials and equipment required;
  • Supervise and control the performance of maintenance work;
  • Check, on request, the work carried out by external companies;
  • See to the application of recognized professional techniques for each of the specialized trades and to respect standards, in particular in terms of health and safety;
  • See to the supply of materials and equipment and keep to update its sector inventories;
  • Carry out periodic inspections of equipment and materialsused;
  • Produce and transmit, on request, reports, documents and statistics related to its sector of activity;
  • Collaborate, on request, in the production of tools management of material resources adapted to the needs of establishments and other administrative units;
  • Assume, when required, the transmission of all relevant information in order to provide support to the managers of the school board;
  • If necessary, assist the administrators of schools and administrative units of the school board.
  • More specifically, the incumbent will also have to :

  • Supervise by assessing the conformity, quality and quantity of the work carried out by the internal workforce and external contractors of all specialties within the allocated budgets;
  • More specifically, the selected person will be in charge of the workers in charge of grounds maintenance and the concierge of administrative centers;
  • Supervise, assess and technically support the personnel under his authority in the schools;
  • Assist in the development of procedures and specifications concerning maintenance work methods, products and equipment required;
  • Support school administrators in the development concierge routes to ensure a healthy and safe educational environment;
  • Direct the execution of work according to priorities, efficiency and resources available for all disciplines in minor maintenance and trades working on the day schedule;
  • Participate in service coordination meetings;
  • Be very independent to ensure maintenance operations are maintained;
  • Adopt a continuous improvement approach by targeting the interviews to prioritize for the revision of the conservation plan for the organization's building stock;
  • Respond to emergency calls as service manager on custody according to a pre-established schedule with compensatory remuneration;
  • Assume any other responsibility compatible with his function that may be assigned to him by his immediate superior.

  • Qualification card valid for the exercise of a trade related to the job
  • Five (5) years of relevant experience
  • Secondary V diploma in a field of appropriate studies
  • Eight (8) years of relevant experience

  • Possess a driver's license valid without restriction and provide a vehicle (automobile or truck) for the performance of its duties (all travel documents provided);
  • Have a good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Ability to manage several tasks and / or work sites simultaneously;
  • Hold knowledge of concierge and field maintenance (landscaping, lawn, asphalt, snow removal, play module, etc.)

  • Hold a professional studies diploma in an appropriate field of study, in particular in building maintenance or construction;
  • Hold a valid ASP construction card ;
