Position Summary

Are you a passionate Medical Laboratory Professional looking for room to grow both personally and professionally? The Queen Victoria Hospital in Revelstoke is seeking a reliable and flexible MLT to join the team!

The Queen Victoria Hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area. Located in Revelstoke, between Salmon Arm and Golden, the hospital offers services including acute care, laboratory, obstetrics, and emergency.

As the Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will work in a team based environment and perform a variety of duties within the Laboratory such as routine and / or complex tests utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments, greeting patients, collecting and / or receiving specimens, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS), validating / reporting test results, maintaining instruments and preparing solutions and control agents.

This is a casual position which means hours are not guaranteed and may vary as needed. Shift times are 07 : 30-15 : 30, 08 : 30-16 : 30 and 16 : 00-11 : 59.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program
  • Current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and / or CSMLS
  • One (1) year recent related experience
