Job Title : Senior Financial Analyst
Location : Etobicoke, ON
Length of Assignment : Full time, Permanent
Salary : $86,000-$110,000 / year
The Financial Analyst will be responsible for developing, interpreting and implementing complex financial models and accounting concepts or techniques for financial planning and control.
Additional responsibilities will include conducting studies to analyze complex financial actions and prepare recommendations for policy, procedure, control or action, analysis of financial information to determine present and future financial performance, identification of trends and recommendations for according improvements, provide interpretation of financial policies or customer financial regulations, evaluate complex profit plans, operating records and financial statements, conduct research and prepare economic reports on subjects such as rate of return, depreciation, working capital requirements, investment performance and impact of governmental requirements.
The Financial Analyst will also be required to assist in the development of budget, planning and other financial documents and reports.
Responsibilities of the role
Analyze current and past trends in key performance indicators including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures
Monitor performance indicators, highlighting trends and analyzing causes of unexpected variance
Oversee and manage the continued development of Budgeting, Financial Forecasting, Operating Plan and Modeling tools
Quarterly, Monthly, and Weekly Financial reports for internal and external purposes Improve performance by evaluating processes to drive efficiencies and understand ROI in marketing programs
Develop financial models and analysis to support strategic initiatives
Analyze complex financial information and reports to provide accurate and timely financial recommendations to management for decision making purposes
Supporting Senior Management Team and Departments heads with in-depth analysis
Supporting Senior Management by providing financial consulting and strategic support by preparing capital expenditure analysis, industry / peer group comparisons, new business opportunities, acquisition analysis or any other projects as needed
Tracking and monitoring of results
Risk and opportunity management and execution
Ad-Hoc Reporting and Analysis
Education and core competencies requirement
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA Designation (CMA, CGA, or CA legacy) is a large asset
8-10+years of cost accounting / analysis and cost reconciliation experience in a manufacturing environment at a senior level is required.
3+ years’ experience in Financial Planning and Analysis
3+ experience in the food industry is an asset
Advanced knowledge of Excel and MS Office applications (Word, Access, PowerPoint)
Solid knowledge of accounting functions
Strong leadership skills required with ability to coach and mentor abilities
Detail oriented and organized
Highest standards of accuracy and precision
Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with high credibility at all levels of the organization
Articulate with excellent verbal and written communication skills
Able to work efficiently as a part of a team as well as independently

Self-motivator with ability to work independently
A Diploma / Degree in accounting / finance. Pursing an accounting designation (CPA), or fully designated is an asset
Strong analytical skills and proficient in MS office with intermediate to expert knowledge of MS excel (Pivot Tables / formulas / linkage);
