The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Analyst, Finance is an experienced accounting professional looking to take a role in finance within the apparel manufacturing industry.

The candidate will be responsible for analysis, reporting, updating, budgeting and forecasting of the sales, receivables and dilutions for the office located in the East end of Montreal.

The incumbent is a motivated team player with strong analytical skills, high level of rigor and in comfortable working in a fast paced environment.

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Analyze, review, approve and update the dilutions on a daily basis
  • Prepare and analyze the reports supporting the month ends
  • Maintain and update the agreements signed with the customers
  • Prepare reports and analysis for distribution to the customers and sales’ teams
  • Responsible for monthly reconciliations of volume and sales numbers per brands, categories and customers
  • Performs sales variance analysis comparing actuals to the budget, forecasts and prior years to be distributed to the sales’ teams, finance and upper management
  • In conjunction with the sales’ department, creates and develops reports and adequate supporting schedules for quarterly forecasts and annual budget in the sales and dilutions sections
  • Analyze, review and updates the fixed assets modules
  • Analyze and prepare documentation supporting the prepaids section
  • Reconciles the inter-companies balances
  • Analyze the different treasury and inventory ratios
  • Perform quarterly inventory physical counts
  • Ensures all procedures are well documented and updated to meet the established company’s standards
  • Respects the company’s standards and deadlines for the financial reporting
  • Profile & Core Competencies

  • Professional accountant (CPA) holding a bachelor degree in accounting or finance
  • Strong analyst with a minimum of 2 years in a similar position
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of JDE and the planning software Logility is an asset
  • Strong financial background with the ability to analyze and synthesize information to develop meaningful reports to help make informed decisions
  • Effective communication skills, ability to efficiently communicate with various business units
  • Ability to manage priorities in fast paced environments
  • Leadership and capability to develop new tools
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and French
