Diagnostics Engineer - Senior

  • Description : Diagnostics Engineer Senior is responsible for new feature development, and enhancements to existing diagnostics.
  • The senior engineers will work closely with a cross functional team, suppliers, utilizing various tools (vehicle, HIL, Dyno, Virtual, rapid prototyping) through the V-model development process to ensure quality and robustness of the production diagnostics.

    The Diagnostics Engineer Senior will be technically embedded within the individual Center of Excellences (CoEs) depending on the area of expertise, but will administratively report to the LATAM lead diagnostics engineer.

    Responsibilities include but not limited to :

  • Interface with systems engineers and calibration engineers to fully understand the requirements;
  • Lead the assessment and document the impacts against regulatory or functional safety requirement;
  • Lead the development of diagnostic strategies and communicate the strategies very clearly in writing, both email and presentations, with global stakeholders

  • Markup models to ensure the design meets diagnostic requirements;
  • Validate the design during the production process.

    The Diagnostics Engineer Senior is expected to provide technical guidance / training and act as an expert in his or her field of specialization.

    Diagnostic algorithm development typically begins as an advanced effort, but must ultimately meet program timelines and conform to high level functional requirements.

  • Requirements :
  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Mechatronic or Electrical Engineering, or related Engineering field from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of experience with automotive systems : control systems, ECU, hydraulic system, electric physics, combustion physics;
  • Advanced experience with Matlab and Simulink;
  • High experience with ETAS INCA and Microsoft Office applications (Excel / Word / PowerPoint / G-suite);
  • Good experience with Problem Solving techniques (DFMEA, DFSS, DVPR, Reactive methods);
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following :
  • o Propulsion systems : Engine, driveline, hybrid Powertrain, electric / hydraulic components etc.

    o AGILE / Scrum

    o Application Life cycle management tools(RTC / ALM)

    o Development processes, procedures, and architectures (aSPICE, PLE, AUTOSAR, vehicle functional safety)

    o HIL, dyno, vehicle-testing experience.

    Preferred Requirements :

  • Master's degree or PHD in Engineering.
  • Notes :

    Remote with some travel to US for meetings
