Job Description


The Manager, SSPI (Strategic Sourcing and Profit Improvement) is responsible for managing all aspects of the Procurement process for non-merchandise goods and services relating to an assigned group of Indigo departments.  

  • Build strong working relationships with key Indigo stakeholders to expand SSPI team’s influence 
  • Develop and implement strategies and objectives for assigned Indigo business teams that drive short and long-term value creation   
  • Partner with Indigo business teams to develop and execute RFX events 
  • Conduct vendor negotiations, review contracts, and work with Legal on contract management and review process 
  • Oversee critical supplier relationship management and contract management processes 
  • Track cost savings, spend compliance, and variances 
  • Work with business partners to develop sourcing forecasts and budgets 
  • Execute balanced supplier selection metrics and scorecard 
  • Understand and follow Indigo's core HR process - staffing, performance management, rewards, and development 
  • Support the Strategic Sourcing team by coaching and mentoring junior members 
  • Has the ability to see the total organization with an integrated perspective 
  • Acts in a manner that promotes, and is aligned with, Indigo's Mission, Vision, Beliefs



  • 5+ years, preferably in Procurement-related function 
  • Experience working in medium to large organizations 
  • Natural leader who is capable of managing cross-functional teams and projects 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business/Commerce, Economics or Engineering 
  • MBA an asset, but not required 
  • Previous negotiations training from leading institution(s) an asset 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
  • Demonstrated ability to influence others at all levels of organizations 
  • Strong business acumen 
  • Highly analytical with an ability to draw insights from data 
  • Process-driven with an attention to detail 
  • Leads in a collaborative manner 
  • Willing to challenge stakeholders in a respectful way 
  • Loves building relationships with internal and external stakeholders
