Job Summary :

Under the supervision of the Chef and Sous Chef, the Stewards primary responsibility is to operate the dishwashing machine.

The Steward / dishwasher is responsible for cleaning duties as well as helping the cooks with the kitchen prep as directed.

Description of main responsibilities :

  • Basic prep of food items for service
  • Keep the dishwashing area organized, tidy and clean
  • Set up the dishwashing area and operate the dishwashing machine
  • Regularly clean the machines
  • Manual dishwashing
  • Keep the outside area clean, free of litter and swept if necessary
  • Keep the garbage containers emptied and cleaned
  • Take garbage bags / receptacles to the garbage room
  • Assist were needed
  • Requirements of the position :

  • Professional, enthusiastic, energetic
  • Able to work and communicate well within the team
  • Able to accommodate a flexible work schedule (mornings, evenings, weekends)
  • Able to work under pressure
  • Able to lift up to 50lb, reach, bend, push and stoop
  • Able to work in a standing position for up to 5 hours
