JOB PURPOSE

The Software Engineer, Back End is a full-time position in our Sofia, Bulgaria office. You will

be a member of our publishing platform team, currently modernizing and standardizing the

content management and paywall systems for 20 different B2B market intelligence brands as

part of our business transformation. You will be responsible for the development and

maintenance of our content and data management systems to support web and API clients. As a

passionate engineer, you will develop modern, scalable, and performant web services.

KEY OBJECTIVES

Develop and maintain publishing platform services, databases, and APIs.

Integrate with 3rd party services and other internal resources to extend platform

functionality.

Partner with front end development and product stakeholders to build modern, scalable,

and performant services for web clients.

Incorporate secure development best practices in your day-to-day work

EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ATTRIBUTES

3 years of professional web / micro services software development experience

Proven and demonstrable development experience with Java and related technologies;

Node.js experience is a plus

Hands-on experience with common open source search platforms such as Solr or

Elasticsearch; familiarity with NoSQL solutions such as Redis or MongoDB is a plus

Experience in developing and debugging web services / content providers, including use of

REST APIs; GraphQL experience is a plus

Experience developing with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL,

including implementation of data models using appropriate SQL constraints

Solid understanding of cloud computing architectures (AWS or Azure) covering

containerization, load balancing / scalability, and caching & CDNs

Experience participating in the full software development life cycle and Agile

methodologies

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience in Computer Sciences or a related

field required

Some international travel may be required in line with individual project requirements

Excellent communicator

Entrepreneurial spirit proactive and self-motivated; value common sense over process

Highly organized, able to work under pressure to deadlines and multi-task

Intellectually curious about financial and professional services and the markets we serv
