Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job :

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the accurate preparation and timely presentation of all external and intercompany financial reporting, observing local and corporate accounting principles as well as internal control procedures.

He / she is also responsible for coordinating with the other departments of the Company for budget preparation and for the elaboration of financial analysis aimed for following-up the Company’s activity.

Main Accountabilities :

  • Supervise and prepare month-end , quarterly and yearly reconciliations and financial statements as well as comparisons to budget and prior year, ensuring accuracy of accounting data (provisions, month-end entries, other) to insure timely reporting in the Group’s tools dedicated to that purpose.
  • Support the Finance Director in the preparation and distribution to internal stakeholders of accounting and financial reports to follow up the activity of the Company.
  • Support the Finance Director to create and implement internal control procedures (corporate and / or local) and perform tests to demonstrate effectiveness.
  • Follow up to : - all the immobilized instruments (placed, rented, demo, internal use) and give all the information to the Financial Analyst to book the movements;
  • NORA contracts, to alert ADV, Commercial departments and / or Finance Director about the evolution (for example : actual vs.
  • contracted volume and impact over contract duration) to allow them, if necessary, adopt correctives.

  • Supportthe Finance Director in the budgeting process, elaborate the COGS and internal OPEX budgets,update all corporate tools (currently : Cofis, I4C, Mareva, ICR) and support the other departments.
  • Prepare all Québec and Canadian tax obligations (sales tax -recovery and billing of GST, HST, QST, PST-BC-, corporate tax, T4, RL-1) with the support of the external tax firm to determine, under the Finance Director responsibility, the deductions that may apply .
  • Qualifications

    TypicalStudies-Experience, Skills and Qualifications :

    Studies-Experience :

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting with 5 to 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Advanced knowledge of the ERP SAP, especially FI module.
  • Knowledge of MS Office Suite (Advanced Excel, Access, Word, Power Point).
  • Strong knowledge of Quebec and Canadian tax laws.
  • Knowledge of payroll procedures and processes.
