The Queen’s Printer of British Columbia operates within the procurement and supply division, under the ministry of citizens’ services.

The queen’s printer operates on a cost recovery basis and is responsible for the printing and publishing of legislation.

The queen’s printer provides cost-effective, on-time and quality solutions, including the development and distribution of digital and print publications.

Functioning as the central procurement office of print products for the government of British Columbia, the queen’s printer manages an ecommerce platform and provides the overall coordination of protocol and recognition products for the government of British Columbia and other public sector organizations.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Supply Services, the Director, Queen’s Printer is accountable for the overall management of the Queen’s Printer of British Columbia.

The Director leads the modernization of print and digital solutions for a variety of diverse program areas throughout government and the public sector.

The Director works with employees and divisional leads to serve and meet the needs of our citizens through continuous improvement, the development and design of applications, timely print procurement solutions, and other modernized product offerings and services.

Job Requirements :

In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below :

  • Degree in business administration, public administration or in another field related to the role, or professional accreditation;
  • or an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive management experience in a private or public-sector marketplace.
  • 3 years experience in managing contracts or equivalent project management experience.
  • 2 years experience in leading strategic or business planning activities.
  • 2 years experience leading and resolving complex staff and / or client issues.
  • Experience leading a team through change, motivating and driving performance.
  • Preference may be given to candidates with one or more of the following :

  • Experience working with and / or an understanding of the Commonwealth legislative process.
  • Experience in digital information delivery.
  • Provisos
