Although this position has onsite office-based requirements, it can temporarily be performed virtually due to the current extraordinary circumstances related to COVID-19.

The Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills & Training provides leadership and direction for post-secondary education and skills training in British Columbia as well as labour market information and programs.

The Senior Program Advisor is responsible for the design, management and evaluation of Indigenous skills training programming, working closely with Indigenous communities and various provincial ministries, orders of government, and organizations.

    Job Requirements :

    In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below :

  • Graduate degree in a related field and at least one year of relevant experience or an undergraduate degree in a related field and at least three years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Related education fields include public administration, social sciences, law, humanities, or Indigenous studies. Relevant experience may be a combination of the following : Experience managing multiple projects or leading a component (e.

    g., sub-project) of a major project. Experience managing relationships with senior level stakeholders and leading consultation sessions.

    Experience in directing the work for other project managers, professional employees, and / or consultants. Experience in budget management.

  • Preference may be given to candidates with experience working with Indigenous organizations and / or communities in a research or project / program management capacity.
  • Preference may be given to applicants who self-identify as having Indigenous heritage.
