As a Privacy Escalations Advisor you’re in great company, working alongside some of the most passionate and innovative privacy specialists in Canada.

Your work will help transform the way TELUS manages data incidents and requests for information as part of our ongoing commitment to putting customers first, safeguarding personal information and protecting privacy in all our business operations.

Here’s how

  • Execute on TELUS’ privacy strategy to align with or exceed regulatory requirements and customer expectations
  • Leverage critical thinking to drive creative approaches to resolving issues, and by applying privacy principles for highly complex, ambiguous situations
  • Implement best practices for complex escalations and incidents to drive continuous privacy process improvements
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and post incident reviews to identify, evaluate and provide direction to relevant functional areas to ensure mitigation of risks
  • Provide reporting trending, track risks and partner with business areas to implement required controls in a timely manner, taking accountability for the results to maintain customers’ trust in TELUS
  • Complete detailed analysis to identify root causes, assess risks, and drive holistic solutions to resolve highly complex cases and mitigate future scenarios
  • Provide advanced level reporting to ensure a timely, accurate and valuable assessment of the privacy risk level across the organization
  • Work with customers and partner with internal stakeholders on complex complaints and requests requiring advanced level in depth investigations, analytics and solutions
  • Lead, coach and mentor other team members in implementing and applying process improvements
  • Apply continuous learning mindset to drive everyday innovation, by proactively seeking opportunities to develop and demonstrate thought-leadership
  • Qualifications

  • Sought out for your expert ability to handle complex privacy escalations, building and retaining customer loyalty while meeting obligations under Privacy Legislation
  • Regarded as excellent in dealing with ambiguity and complex concepts, by applying strong critical thinking skills and thought leadership
  • Recognized for your strong ability to exercise sound judgement in decision making, and execute decisions quickly in order to mitigate risk and protect the TELUS brand
  • Noted for your ability to bring an integrated perspective to continuous improvement initiatives and problem solving, from design to implementation
  • Respected for your interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization, alongside your mastery to write reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Confident in your knowledge and understanding of TELUS Privacy Policies and applicable privacy legislation
  • University degree (law, administration, political science, psychology)
  • Professional accreditation from the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP), or willing to acquire within 6 months
  • Great-to-have

  • Fluency in French
