Civeo Water Canada is recruiting for a result driven, committed, and customer service oriented Water and Wastewater Treatment Operator Level II.
Higher certification in both fields is a great asset. Being an integral part of Civeo team and based out of Beaver River Executive Lodge (BREL) / Athabasca Lodge, which are located 49 km north of Fort McMurray, the incumbent will report to the Water and Wastewater Manager.
The incumbent will be the first point of contact and source of technical knowledge and expertise providing water and wastewater treatment services to the assigned client group.
This is a full-time, hourly, 1-year term position.
Operate, monitor, and inspect water and wastewater treatment plant processes and equipment including pumps, motors, compressors, screens, overhead crane, membranes, chemical pumps and associated equipment
Ensure that process operations are continuously monitored for performance within the plant specifications and approval
Ensure position certification as well as all required safety and procedural training are valid and current
Interpret process control data (SCADA) and lab data against performance standards and initiate required adjustments to plant equipment to ensure effective and efficient operation
Continuously monitor and record onto daily log and electronic sheets the facility data
Coordinate process control adjustments in conjunction with other Operators
Provides guidance / training to lesser qualified and experienced plant Operators
Conduct daily monitoring of potable water and wastewater systems
Perform manual calculations of flow rates, pumping times, chemical pump draw downs, etc. as required
Performs routine lab tests to optimize both biological and chemical processes
Provide appropriate reports and verbal summaries to incoming shift relief Operators, including emergent and unusual situations that have occurred during the shift
Complete a variety of plant operations / maintenance duties including equipment and tank cleaning and maintenance, instrumentation calibration, custodial, and other routine procedures.
High School Diploma or GED (General Educational) transcript
Level 2 or higher operator certificate in both water and wastewater treatment with experience in a Class III facility
Valid class 5 driver’s license with clean and safe 5-year driver’s record
Proficiency in MS Windows, MS Office and specialized water treatment applications
Previous experience working with membrane treatment facilities is an asset
Minimum three (3) years of acceptable operating experience. A two (2) year Diploma in Water and Wastewater Program can be substituted for two (2) years of experience
