Job Summary

WE is looking for a committed and detail-oriented Senior Accounts Receivable to join the Finance and Accounting Team. The candidate will work closely with Partner Relation and Donor service team, provide expertise and support to senior management on AR policies and procedures and assist in the launching of new international and domestic campaign.

The position is based out of WE’s office in Toronto and reports directly to the Associate Director of Accounting

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Process donation batches and conduct financial journal entries ensure all the donations and accounts receivable information are accurately recorded daily
  • Work closely with Partner Relation and Donor service team to ensure all the donation and sponsorship match the designation of funds
  • Process monthly, quarterly and year-end closing revenue reconciliations; investigate and rectify any discrepancies and following up with appropriate action
  • Provide complete, accurate and timely revenue report and aging report to management team
  • Prepare tax receipts and provide guidance on inquires of donation and tax receipting policies
  • Actively participate in the continuous improvement initiative by constantly reviewing current processes and practices to identify opportunities to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • Support external auditors by coordinating information requirements
  • Qualifications and Skills

  • Degree or Diploma in Accounting / Finance
  • 1-2 years’ working experience in processing large volume revenue
  • Solid accounting background. Not-for-profit experience is preferred
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience in working both independently and in a team
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and Microsoft Dynamics application is an asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrates high level of attention to detail
  • Excellent time management skills with ability to prioritize, manage large workload and meet with tight deadlines
