Job Description

The Actuarial Analyst II, Insurance risk contributes to the success of the TDI Insurance Risk Management team mainly by participating in the review of the unpaid claims liabilities valuation as well as in the review of the indicated rate changes.

  • Reporting directly to the Senior Manager, Insurance Risk;
  • Participate in the challenge of the Corporate Actuarial team's unpaid claims liabilities estimates by deriving unpaid claims liabilities estimates on assigned lines of business and identifying the drivers of difference between IRM and Corporate Actuarial's estimates;
  • Participate in the challenge of the Pricing team's indicated rate changes by deriving indicated rate changes on assigned lines of business and identifying the drivers of difference between IRM and Pricing's estimates;
  • Participate in the documentation, reporting and communication related to the unpaid claims estimates challenge and indicated rate change challenge;
  • Participate in the development, in collaboration with our business partners, of Key Risk Indicators for Insurance Risk, in the monitoring, reporting and communication related to these risk indicators;
  • Participate in the design and the implementation of process improvements in order to achieve more efficient and insightful challenges
  • Contribute to building, developing and maintaining effective relationships with our business partners.
  • Job Requirements

  • 3+ years of actuarial experience in the general insurance field
  • Bachelor degree in Actuarial Sciences or related field
  • ACAS near completion or at least five professional exams
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience in risk management, pricing or reserving
  • Advanced analytical, decision-making and problem solving skills
  • Client-focused and aptitude for teamwork with solid organizational and communications skills
  • Highly adaptable to change
  • Autonomous and perseverant; shows initiative and creativity in their work
  • Recognized for their thoroughness and the quality of their work
