As a Senior Product manager on the merchandising team, you’ll use your experience to help us build amazing product experiences to empower merchants to be effective merchandisers.

Our team’s goal is to enable merchants to improve their approach to selecting, presenting, pricing and selling merchandise to satisfy their consumer demand.

You will be responsible for defining and driving the product vision, strategy and planned differentiation that brings the best experiences for our merchants, their customers and our partners.

You’ll identify new opportunities to drive key merchandising strategies with respect to merchandising planning with our current focus in pricing.

We desire to help merchants create effective and creative pricing strategies in order to make their first sales or scale their businesses.

Your leadership, team-building, and collaboration abilities will help shape the team, making it a key component of Shopify’s merchandising platform.

You will work together with a talented cross-discipline team made up of designers, researchers, developers and data scientists to help define, build and measure the success of our merchandising products areas across web and mobile.

This role is part of a larger team of peer PMs within Merchandising to help identify opportunities to contribute to the larger Merchandising strategy.

You'll be doing things like :

  • Defining, guiding and executing the product strategy for the merchandising team focusing on pricing and planning.
  • Identifying customer problems and turning those insights into products that delight merchants and their customers
  • Collaborating with UX and engineering teams on a day-to-day basis to build iterative, high quality products
  • Communicating and collaborating with leaders from multiple disciplines and across multiple product lines
  • Defining clear success metrics, and supporting your teams to achieve them
  • You'll need to have :

  • Experience building and growing successful technology or commerce products
  • Empathy for the merchant and a genuine excitement for solving merchant problems
  • Capability to make good decisions quickly that helps your teams do the same
  • The ability to take a strategy and translate it into actionable tasks
  • Leadership skills building and nurturing large cross-functional teams
  • Experience using data to successfully inform your decision-making and measure your outcomes
  • Excellent communication skills
  • It would be excellent if you had :

  • Past experience working in or collaborating deeply with UX and design
  • Experience working on platform or API products
  • Experience with any of the following fields : commerce, retail, marketing, merchandising
