This is a 12-15 month Maternity leave replacement Cargill’s Agricultural Supply Chain North America (CASC NA) connects agricultural producers to food, feed and industrial customers through a seamless supply chain.

We help our customers compete in the global market and efficiently deliver products from origins to destinations through our marketing, sourcing, originating, storing, trading, consulting and processing of grain, oilseeds and crop inputs products and solutions.

CASC NA business reaches across Canada, United States & Mexico with an expansive asset footprint including over 200 grain elevators, export / import facilities, oilseed crush plants, biodiesel facilities, and farm service centers.

Reporting to the Regional , as a member of the Farm Service Group (FSG) Leadership Team you are accountable for the sales performance and achievement of top line revenues for the FSG.

You will develop comprehensive customer-based plan to generate revenue through the sale of Distinctive Value Solutions, Grain Handling, and Crop Input products and services from a targeted group of customers.

You will also provide leadership and in-field coaching to a team of Sales Representatives, and provide leadership and oversight across all business functions of the FSG.

As a member of the FSG Leadership Team, alongside the Operations Leader, you will develop adequate business acumen across all FSG functions and services to be able to support team leadership and decision-making in all areas.

Principal Accountabilities 40%Provide leadership, coaching and technical support to Sales Representatives including

  • Providing leadership through sales and in-field coaching to ensure the Sales Representatives excel in sales processes, creating distinctive value for customers and executing the customer focus fundamentals
  • Ensuring optimum performance of Sales Representatives through strong execution of the Talent Management Fundamentals
  • Working collaboratively with the Operations Leader, the Regional Sales Leader and the Regional Consulting Leaders to ensure appropriate Talent Management strategies are being implemented that support team engagement and effectively achieve top line revenue goals
  • 30% Lead the sales strategy and top line revenue generation for the FSG including

  • Developing and driving a sales vision for sustainable business growth and profitability
  • Achieving the FSG’s top line revenue targets for crop inputs, grain, and grain risk management tools; work in coordination with the Regional Consulting Leader to achieve the revenues for agronomy and grain marketing services
  • Contributing to the development of relevant regional sales programs and innovative value-added offerings
  • Collaborating with Crop Input suppliers at a regional and local level
  • 30%Lead the customer focus strategy for the FSG including

  • Leading and executing the customer focus strategy in coordination with the Operations Leader
  • Working with the Operations Leader and the Regional Consulting Leaders to ensure the FSG teams are working together to create and deliver value to customers
  • Developing customer focus and connectivity amongst the functional teams in the FSG through the development of a clear understanding of customer needs and sales team objectives, and ensuring the sales team is supporting the goals of the other functions
  • Ensuring;
  • o The Operations Leader and the FSG team champion the customer focus fundamentals and best practiceso The Agronomic Advisor and Grain Marketing Advisors are striving towards the overall FSG goals, execute flawlessly on the customer focus fundamentals and best practices, and participate in FSG team meetings and events

  • Sharing, engaging and ensuring alignment on customer, sales, and marketing related information with the Operations Leader and the Regional Consulting Leaders (as required), Sales Representatives and Advisors
  • Developing business relationships with key farm customers through activities such as strategic farm calls
  • Sharing best practices from other FSGs with the Operations Leader and FSG team
  • Required :

  • Related post-secondary education or equivalent work experience
  • Understand the Canadian agricultural system at a high-level including grain marketing, grain transportation, agronomy, and crop production
  • Strong people skills
  • Proven ability to apply sales processes
  • Effectively coach and develop a team of professional sales and or consultant personnel
  • Motivate people and focus efforts on achieving objectives
  • Drive a vehicle throughout the year in varying weather conditions
  • Be a team player and work with customers and other staff at the location and in the region
  • Knowledge of grain quality assurance and grading
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Must be legally entitled to work for Cargill in Canada
  • Preferred :

  • Excellent knowledge of crop input products and services
  • In-depth knowledge of crop inputs, grain and farm management
  • Understand how grain elevators work
  • Good comprehension of grain contracts, futures, options and basis programs
