As Senior Market Analyst, you will be responsible for reading and analyzing a variety of internal and external information sources about retail credit markets and the Bank’s personal loan portfolios and then consolidating, integrating, summarizing and reporting on them and making recommendations.
This position reports to the Senior Manager Analysis and Performance and works with the department’s management in matrix mode.
Your main challenges :
Read and analyze multiple internal and external data sources related to retail credit, including mortgages and consumer credit (economic and financial studies, internal and market performance data, risk analyses)
Draw connections between data and various fundamental factors related to the economic, financial, demographic and regulatory contexts
Assess the Bank’s competitive position in the market and keep abreast of changes in client needs and market trends
Monitor the evolution of the different Personal Banking financing portfolios
Interpret, summarize and integrate information to highlight major trends as well as past and predicted impacts on our financing portfolios
Identify opportunities that will contribute to credit portfolio growth
Play an active role in producing various internal reports and publications
Share information with colleagues and managers in the Personal Banking sector through reports, memos, presentations, etc.
Respond quickly and diligently to ad hoc requests, including from management
Help implement reporting and portfolio analysis to track KPIs and comply with risk appetite targets
Collaborate on growth projections and monitor budgets for financing portfolios in terms of volumes and margins
You may occasionally be called upon to develop quantitative models to explain the relationships between different indicators
Bachelor’s degree (in economics or finance) and seven years of relevant experience OR master’s degree (in economics or finance) and five years of relevant experience
Experience in market trend analysis and financial analysis
Strong interest in reading and analysis and excellent ability to summarize information
Knowledge of the mortgage market (significant asset)
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Discipline and intellectual curiosity
Ability to work in matrix mode
Superior command of the French language, excellent communication and writing skills
Bilingualism, both spoken and written (English and French), essential
