Summary of Position :
We are looking for a Production Manager who will be responsible for the operational management of the company’s production site.
They are responsible for the achievement of occupational health and safety, quality, and production objectives and report directly to the General Manager.
The Production Manager must have the ability to combine day-to-day management and industrial strategy in order to reconcile immediate imperatives with the company's long-term objectives.
He or she has an excellent understanding of health and safety and regulatory issues, none of which should be overlooked in the management of the facility.
Excellent interpersonal skills at all levels, with employees, subordinates, managers, administrators and suppliers. Excellent rapport with management to ensure that management is kept informed of all site activities on a regular basis.
This position could be the successor for the General Manager role within three years.
Key Responsibilities :
Under the guidance of the General Manager :
In charge of the entire organization and coordination of production (safety, planning, methods, manufacturing, production, maintenance, quality and warehousing);
Defines and implements production objectives. Analyses the annual production capacity and compares it with the company's commercial forecasts;
Identifies the main levers of action to optimize production : production capacity, quality, human resources;
Proposes improvements which will allow in the short, medium or long term to improve production performance;
Defines and publishes a daily monitoring of performance indicators to assess the proper functioning of the production chain : productivity, scrap rates, absenteeism, inventory, annual volumes;
Synthesizes and explains the data for management;
Contributes to the improvement of products and manufacturing processes;
Manages the production budget
Leads the team :
By managing the day-to-day relationship with the various shifts and functions, procurement, planning, maintenance, process, warehousing;
By monitoring with the HR department, the social climate and identifying potential areas of conflict;
Health and Safety :
Enforces, applies and monitors safety procedures and instructions (safety rules & instructions);
Ensures compliance with CNESST legislation;
In collaboration with the HR team, refines, develops and maintains organizational health and safety programs and strategies to prevent workplace accidents;
Identifies and anticipates health and safety concerns and hazards by monitoring environmental, operational and occupational conditions;
Investigates violations and recommends prevention measures; Represents HSE at internal management meetings to ensure needs are met.

Education and Training :
5+ years’ experience as a Mechanical, Electrical or Chemical Engineer
2+ years of experience leading people in a production environment
Bilingual English & French
Technical Skills :
Strong knowledge of all technical competencies related to production methodologies and product specifications
Strong problem-solving approach using technical knowledge
Understanding the competitive marketplace and how best to compete in it (cost, deadlines, regulations, quality, etc.)
Strong Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Experience using ERP systems
Six Sigma, Lean, Green Belt qualification is an asset
Has knowledge of industrial maintenance
