Job summary

Reporting to IT Director, Service Delivery and Technological Evolution, the IT Manager- Technologies will be responsible for following different technological issues.

He will work closely with our outsourcing Partner, Project Managers and Solution Architects to ensure that technical deliverable are achieved during the various phases.

He will act as the guardian of our cloud environments (Azure, Office 365 and Oracle) in accordance with established operating standards and service levels, while minimizing the risks.

Key areas of responsibilities

  • Responsible for following up with customers for the delivery of various technological cases;
  • Responsible for following up with our different partners for the deliverable in projects and initiatives;
  • Oversee the alignment of technological solutions with IT strategies and roadmaps;
  • Review and approve technological specifications related to design to ensure they comply with SNC-Lavalin standards and the technological solutions architecture.
  • Work with key stakeholders to develop the IT vision.
  • Develop and structure a strategic roadmap to meet current and future telecommunication needs according to different business and operational projects;
  • Translate the solution needs and have them approved by the architecture committees;
  • Track our portfolio of technology projects and initiatives : Supervise the execution of the work according to the planning;
  • Be the contact point for escalations linking technology activities.

  • Participate in safety guidelines and ensure their respect
  • Evaluate solutions proposed by hardware, software and cloud service providers to make recommendations;
  • Write technical specifications and respond to invitations to tender if necessary;
  • Propose corrective measures to ensure compliance with stated IT security standards;
  • Assess the quality of the controls in place and the risks associated with them;
  • Anticipated trends and monitor security (watch over trends, regulations and technological developments).
  • Support the development of the Safety Master Plan for the definition, guidance and recommendation of technological and cloud solutions;
  • Participate in the development of the IT Operational Master Plan as an expert;
  • Support the various architects and solve technical architecture problems by developing a solution to ensure respects for the established and targeted architecture;
  • Diploma

  • Bachelor’s degree or College diploma in Computer Science, Systems Engineering or a related IT program;
  • 10 years of IT experience, including at least 5 years as IT Manager.
  • General and technical skills

  • Cisco infrastructure including telephony, Checkpoint, Riverbed, Citrix Netsacler, Windows, Office 365, Skype for business;
  • Knowledge in Cloud environments (Azure et Oracle)
  • Expert in projects management of all sizes
  • Bilingualism required both orally and writing
  • Ability to establish business relationships with clients at all levels;
  • Ability to work in a complex and constantly changing technological environment;
  • Ability to work with a major outsourcing partner;
  • Team spirit, autonomy and customer-oriented thinking;
  • Ability for vulgarization and easy to express ideas, influence and convince;
