Golder has a new opportunity for a Technical Systems Analyst (Geotechnical and Chemistry IM) to join our global IT team on a full-time basis.
We are looking for a highly independent, motivated professional paying great attention to details and willing to continuously adapt and learn new technologies and third-party information management systems.
You will work with a few groups of our consultants, project managers, developers, other IM specialists, IT teams, and vendors.
We use a Scrum-based methodology to deliver quality results in time.
You could be based in Brisbane, Melbourne or Sydney office. Our daily work includes extensive use of instant messaging, online meetings and screensharing, and other online collaboration tools found in Office 365.
Key duties and responsibilities include
Work with project managers, IM specialists, and business groups configuring templates, reports, and sections and delivering results on a frequent cycle.
Work with geotechnical lab managers and vendors to create and update geotechnical lab data input and result output templates based on lab standards (including ASTM, Canadian Standards, Australian Standards) requiring complex engineering calculations and formulas
Work with geotechnical engineers, hydrogeologists, and other engineers and scientists to configure Excel templates connected to third party SQL databases (KeyLAB, HoleBASE using the HoleBASE Excel Extension)
Configure Civil 3D section profiles to display geotechnical data
Configure borehole log templates, map templates, and other reports to display geotechnical and environmental data.
Configure Power BI reports connected to third party SQL databases
Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing templates and reports
Extract, transform and load data from spreadsheets, CSV files and SQL databases
Create How to Guides explaining use of templates (wiki pages and short videos)
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience
BSc / BA in Engineering, Hydrogeology, Information Management or a related field
6 years creating and working with complex engineering or scientific formulas and tables in Excel
6 years creating Excel templates / models / add-ins using named ranges and logic
3 years creating output reports (Excel, logs) connected to SQL databases
3 years using AutoCAD Civil 3D
Ability to learn new applications and technologies
Excellent communication skills in English
Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
Attention to detail
Experience working with geotechnical lab data & KeyLAB is preferred.
Developing Power BI queries and dashboards / reports would be a plus
Experience with Keynetix Cloud or HoleBASE and EQuIS would be beneficial
Hold a relevant working visa
