Reporting to the Recruitment Officer, the Recruiter, Admissions & Recruitment (A&R) is part of the A&R team who work to support learners at various ages and stages to discover pathways into art & design education.
As an OCAD U ambassador, the Recruiter connects with learners in high school classrooms, university fairs and various education events, and meets with teachers, supporters and families across Ontario to encourage applicants and to help them find the right program fit and prepare their best application or portfolio for admission.
The Recruiter plays an important role in supporting the university in how it achieves its enrolment targets, while providing valuable insight into how the university can better support future generations of OCAD U students.
Summary of Responsibilities :
Participate in overall strategic A&R planning, events and communications
Public speaking and presentations about OCAD U programs, student life andcommunity
Assist in the planning, development and implementation of student recruitment initiatives, special projects, events and communications
Extensive travel to secondary schools, colleges and universities across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) andOntario
Represent OCAD U at the Ontario Universities’ Fair and
Support the University’s recruitment enrolment targets and objectives through data entry, report writing and clericalwork
Promote OCAD U’s Summer Workshop, Portfolio Clinic and on-campus workshops and tours programs
Promote and identify OCAD U awards, scholarships and bursaries available
Support the recruitment team in other recruitment activities contributing to the successful operation of the A&R Office
OCAD University degree and an obvious esteem for art, design and OCADU
Knowledge of all OCAD U programs, curriculums and admissions requirements
Knowledge of Ontario high school curriculums
Polished presentation and verbal communication skills
Strong organizational skills
Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Flexibility in work hours; must be willing and able to travel and work irregular hours (occasional evenings and weekends), as required
A valid G class driver’s license (no vehicle required)
