Perform periodic process and product audits (first piece validation, shift change, etc) to ensure conformance with documented work procedures.
Document audit results.
As required, participate in TPG internal and external audit functions (supplier quality).
Monitor audit trends specific to the manufacturing lines and communicate issues to QA and Operations. Specify improvement opportunities.
Provide dispositions for coil (Apply and Test, etc), in-process pipe or finished pipe product on quality hold.
Provide technical assistance for shop floor quality issues relating to bare pipe manufacturing or coating application.
Provide assistance bracketing pipe during process upsets.
Attend Admin Cell meetings and provide feedback / updates on QA issues
Participate in product and process trials with pipe making, pipe coating, and research personnel.
Inspect product returns associated with product claims.
Work with quality management to develop / improve written inspection procedures, as needed
Develop recommendations concerning reactions to problems with inspection data and work with the operating department to limit the manufacturing of non-
compliant product in each production area
Participate, as needed, in quality improvement projects including following trials, analyzing results, collecting shop floor data, etc.
Provide leadership in developing and maintaining safe work operating and inspection practices.
Liaise with QA Management to manage incoming inspection issues and field investigation issues
Participate in the development of training literature for quality inspectors.
1-5 years of experience in QA or operations within an industrial manufacturing environment.
Bachelor’s degree is preferred
Knowledge of metals-based manufacturing processes, including chemical and mechanical testing procedures.
Must understand ISO quality standards and Quality Management Systems (QMS). Knowledge of quality control planning for new products is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to interact with individuals at various levels within the organization
Experience working with interdepartmental teams at all levels of management to accomplish goals
Ability to multi-task, prioritize responsibilities and work independently with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail, close observation and concentration skills
Mechanical aptitude, good manual dexterity and good hand eye coordination
Proficient in Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook; ability to learn other software applications
Excellent communication skills, ability to effectively present project results to management team.
