As a Facilities Maintenance Assistant with Vancouver Coastal Health you will :

  • Process work / maintenance orders and coordinate the workflow of office activities for the department by screening and prioritizing items for the attention of the Manager, Facilities Operations or designate
  • Perform other related clerical and secretarial functions for the department such as : updating information into the departmental maintenance management database and compiling regular reports for decision-making purposes;
  • performing timekeeping, processing vacation requests,typing technical and non-technical materials using various software applications and arranging meetings;
  • documenting meeting minutes,maintaining departmental stationary and supplies levels and performing a variety of other clerical duties, as required.

    QUALIFICATIONS :

    Education & Experience

    Grade 12, graduation from a recognized secretarial program plus three (3) years’ recent, related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

    Knowledge & Abilities

  • Ability to keyboard at 50 w.p.m.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
