The Advisor, Site Construction Technology job near Fort McMurray, AB. is a fulltime contract position with our Oil and Gas client.
Reporting to the Manager, Construction Productivity - Strategy and Operations, you will support the development of the Safety and Productivity Technology (SPT) program processes and lead all day-
to-day technology operations on a selected project site.
Responsibilities of the Advisor, Site Construction Technology job include :
Support implementation planning prior to site execution
Support establishment of physical office space infrastructure, supplies, processes
Support establishment of device management stations in contractor’s trailers (charging and calibration)
Overall management of SPT equipment and materials
Support daily device pairing / un-pairing for craft
Manage system administration, operation, configurations, and user profiles
Provide device and SPT program training to employees and contactors
Required to become the technology system super-user to support SPT system issues and user questions
Monitor and manage maintenance of location beacons
Provide analytics knowledge transfer of SPT to the site project teams
Support production of analytics reports and lead review sessions with our client and contractor Construction Management Teams
Support overall project performance analysis though the use of actual workforce data.
Provide project learnings and support continuous improvement within the SPT Program organization
40% Data / Analytics / Technology Mgmt., 30% Construction, 30% Stakeholder Mgmt.
Key Requirements : Preferably >
3 years of experience in the oil and gas industry
Two or more years of experience in stakeholder management, information management, technology and / or construction
Experience leading processes and facilitating workshops / meetings is an asset
Previous experience with safety or productivity technology applications in construction is ideal
Post-secondary degree, preferably in engineering or technology systems
Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Leadership skills are considered an asset
Self-starter and ability to self-execute scope to meet timelines is essential
Computer Skills :
Required - Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, Project, SharePoint)
Additional Asset - SAP, Power BI, Primavera P6
Knowledge of oil and gas plants, equipment and facilities and site construction practices considered an asset
Experience in Workface Planning is considered an asset
Strong business acumen with ability to build relationships and drive alignment between various stakeholders
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, manage conflict and facilitate decision making processes to optimize outcomes
Applies principles and supports adherence to Asset Development and Execution Model (ADEM).
Motivated self-starter with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Must be a team player and supports team growth and chemistry.
Working Considerations :
Site based, northern Alberta
Camp accommodations, flights from Edmonton or Calgary
Term : January 1, 2019 to approx. April 2020 depending on business need
8x6 rotation, 12-hour days
Must have BSO / OSSA for site access
Must be able to be hired as an independent contractor
