We are seeking a Legal Assistant for a full-time opportunity within our Family Law Litigation group in our Vaughan office.

The successful candidate will be an administrative star with a proactive approach. This is a great opportunity for an individual who enjoys a fast-paced, dynamic desk.

In this role, some responsibilities will include (but will not be limited to) :

  • Drafting, revising and preparing of correspondence, accounts, briefs, various litigation / family law documents and court forms;
  • Preparing and maintaining a bring-forward system and diarizing meetings, appointments and timelines for court / filing deadlines;
  • Administrative duties such as : managing email / calendar accounts, processing accounts, electronic / hard copy filing and coordinating meetings, appointments, travel arrangements, etc.;
  • Act as the first point of contact for internal / external client inquiries as well as maintaining client contact to ensure prompt response times and excellent service delivery;
  • Other business related duties as assigned.
  • To be successful in this role, you possess :

  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience as a Legal Assistant and have a Certificate or Diploma from a Community College, or equivalent;
  • Solid understanding of the Family Law Rules and court filing procedures;
  • Working knowledge and experience with Divorcemate;
  • Excellent organizational / follow up skills; attention to detail, proofreading and accuracy are required;
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within an open team environment;
  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and exercise discretion when necessary.
