Your Opportunity :
This position provides administrative support to the 3-5 physicians within the Department of Paediatrics and the Cumming School of Medicine-
University of Calgary. The incumbent should have a full understanding of Alberta Health Services and the University of Calgary as well as a good understanding of academic medicine in order to function effectively.
As a result the incumbent should be self-directed in resolving issues and professionalism is paramount in representing the Department and its members to internal and external stakeholders.
This Administrative Support IV position works independently and within a team environment. You will need to understand the purpose and goals of the team and bring your ideas forward.
This Position is a Monday-Friday, role hours are 8-4 : 15.
As an Administrative Support IV, you will require advanced administrative or specialized skills and knowledge to support complex procedures, practices and initiatives within a department or program.
Required Qualifications :
Completion of post-secondary education (e.g. course(s) in office of business administration, medical office assistant).
Additional Required Qualifications :
Completion of a Secretarial Arts Diploma / Certificate, Business Administrative Diploma / certificate or equivalent experience of 2 years at an intermediate administrative level.
Current Resume and Cover Letter required.Attention to detail.Strong communication skills.Minimum Intermediate competency in Microsoft office suite testing will be completed to confirm.
40-50 wpm typing, testing will be completed to confirm.
Preferred Qualifications :
2 Years of fulltime experience at an Intermediate Administrative Capacity in a Health Care setting.2 year of experience managing calendars, taking minutes, creating agendas.
Previous experience with basic accounting and managing expenses.Previous event planning experience.Previous experience with scheduling.
Previous Regional On Call experience (ROCA).Previous experience with U of C trust accounting at University of Calgary.Medical terminology.
