In partnership with Digital Marketing, the Digital Analyst, Demand Generation on the Digital Intelligence (DI) team is integral to building out and optimizing our Google Product Listing Ads (PLA) program in ecommerce.

In this role, you will champion analyses using various customer and competitor data pulled from Google and Adobe to iteratively optimize our Google AdWords biddings strategies and help guide shoppers directly to product pages on BestBuy.

ca. At the core, you are a results-oriented thought leader and continually seek ways to improve our conversion and profitability for Google Product Listing Ad campaigns.

As a Digital Analyst, Demand Generation you will

  • Work with the Digital Intelligence team and from within a cross-functional team to analyse, test, learn, and optimize our bid management engine for Google PLA campaigns, ensuring profitability and conversion rate optimization
  • Work with internal and external partners to set up, build out and optimize Best Buy Canada's Google SEM tool, including its overall structure and audiences
  • Work with eCommerce merchants to leverage SEM-driven digital data to aid in forecasting demand, inventory planning, and pricing, with the objective of optimizing conversion rate and profit of PLA campaigns
  • Build out and continuously improve PLA landing pages through analysis and testing
  • Analyze customer behaviour on BestBuy.ca including funnels, audiences, traffic sources, and engagement
  • Synthesize and analyze data from multiple sources to create optimized paid search bidding strategies
  • Leverage your entrepreneurial mindset and expert analytical skills to experiment and test new performance marketing strategies
  • Perform quality assurance checks for Google trend data to ensure parity (using Excel or scripting languages)
  • Communicate data-driven recommendations to merchants to support conversion rate optimization
  • Distill and communicate complex data and concepts to various audiences, including stakeholders with specific business requirements and limited understanding of paid search

    The experience we need

  • University degree or equivalent in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
  • 3+ years completing data-driven analyses that delivered value and generated revenue within a large eCommerce organization
  • Experience working with at least 1 one of the following : Google Data Center, Google trend data, or Google Merchant Center
  • Expert understanding of Google AdWords and / or Product Listing Ads (campaign design and performance analysis)
  • Fundamental business understanding, specifically of factors that contribute to pricing decisions

  • 1+ year(s) experience working for an eCommerce organization
  • 1+ year(s) experience working in a fast-paced, results-oriented Agile environment; familiarity with JIRA, Confluence
  • Experience working with Google Product Listing Ads (PLAs)
  • Proven track-record of Google AdWords campaign design and performance analysis
  • Business understanding of the retail and eCommerce space
  • Familiarity with script languages such as R and Python
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases such as SQL and NoSQL
