Senior System Engineer SMT Lead
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
Providing technical leadership across multiple disciplines and projects to help solve complex problems involving but not limited to obsolescence and sparing deficiencies.
Act as the lead of the System Management Team (SMT) composed of members from multiple specialties. Key responsibility will be to integrate and report on all information related to the relevant system including project status, risk and obsolescence management, repair and overhaul, and direct ILS and reliability studies.
In conjunction with the air force customer, update aircraft level architecture and system requirements, perform system analysis and trade studies and work with customers to develop system requirements and Concepts of Operations.
Provide leadership on technical proposals and develop customer white papers promoting solutions and assets improvements to sustain the radar.
Provide inputs to the system road map, act as the Subject Matter Expert regarding the assigned system.
Ensure that suppliers and subcontractors are integrated in the team and have clear statement of work.
Responsible to coordinate, schedule and facilitate all of the activities of the assigned project or service requests. This includes all activities pertaining to study, planning, prototype design, prototype procurement, prototype installation, fleet procurement and fleet installation.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or Bachelor of Computer Science.
Minimum of 10 years of avionics or aerospace engineering experience with familiarity of Canadian defence contracts.
Minimum of 5 years of experience with radar, mission, acoustic, navigation, communication and others avionics system.
Knowledge of and experience in highly integrated avionics or aerospace systems essential.
Must have demonstrated leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills.
Must be eligible for Canadian industrial security clearance, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and Controlled Goods Regulations Program (CGRP) government clearances.
Technical systems and Airworthiness knowledge and experience is an asset.
Experience in an In-Service Support role an asset.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to manage multiple stakeholders and external / internal departments
