We are looking for experienced Mechanical & Electrical Coordinators to assist with the management of the mechanical and electrical IMIT scopes of work for major institutional projects.

We have 2 positions available : Mechanical Coordinator and Electrical / IMIT Coordinator.Reporting to either the Mechanical Manager or the Electrical / IMIT Manager and as a member of the project team, you will work closely with Project Managers and Site Superintendents to ensure project plan administration supports the execution of field operations.

Acting as a liaison between mechanical and electrical consultants and subcontractors, responsibilities include but are not limited to : Design Phase

  • Review design drawings and specifications prior to issue to the client
  • Participate in constructability reviews of design drawings
  • Attend design and coordination meetings
  • Provide budget / pricing assistance and make recommendations on mechanical or electrical related items
  • Construction Phase

  • Process, monitor and expedite review of shop drawings
  • Coordinate drawings; work with other disciplines related to mechanical or electrical systems (i.e. security, access control, hardware)
  • Expedite materials and equipment deliveries from suppliers and subcontractors to meet contract schedules as it pertains to the mechanical or electrical scopes of work
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager, obtain and review monthly progress claims; prepare deficiency lists and non-conformance reports in a timely manner
  • Review change notice pricing
  • Successful candidates should have a post-secondary degree or diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering coupled with at least 4 years of experience in building design and construction, preferably with a large general contractor on institutional or design-

    build projects. Consideration will be given to Journeyman with a mechanical or electrical background and relevant experience.

    You effectively provide coordination of mechanical or electrical activities having both sound knowledge and practical experience with pertinent codes and standards.

    You must also be a self-starter and confident individual with excellent computer, interpersonal, communication and time-
