Co-Director (PhD), Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Laboratory

Applications are invited for a full-time Academic Co-Director (PhD) position in the Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics Laboratory within the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP), with an academic appointment at an appropriate rank in the Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine at McMaster University.
The HRLMP encompasses four acute care hospital sites and includes laboratories at Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare, Hamilton.
McMaster University plays an integral role in the educational life of Hamilton, providing a stimulating academic environment with unique opportunities for clinical and basic research.
The successful candidate will join a large HLA Laboratory that supports the Regional Renal Transplant and Bone Marrow Stem Cell Transplant Programs at Hamilton Health Sciences and St.
the PhD co-director will focus on technical support and laboratory development. Applicants with a background and expertise in Bone Marrow / Stem Cell Transplantation will be given preference.
Minimum requirements include a PhD degree and Directors Training Accreditation through the American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics (ASHI).
This position is for an academically oriented faculty member, with clinical, diagnostic, and / or research skills in the area of Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics.
pursue collaborative research in his / her specialty; and participate in on-call responsibilities supporting the transplant and local organ donation programs.
