You will be a part of a Facility Asset Management team in Life Cycle Management that manages Capital Renewal projects on a number of City owned facilities, Fire Stations, Recreation facilities, Transit Garages, Transit facilities, Emergency Operations Centres, City of Edmonton Attractions, Police Facilities, Libraries and River Valley facility projects.

Integrated Infrastructure Services, Facility Asset Management, Capital Renewal Planning, needs you to provide strategic advice to internal clients on current and emerging infrastructure issues.

Your duties will include :

  • Lead research and develop strategies and policies to support infrastructure management
  • Conduct analysis on corporate infrastructure and prepare associated reports
  • Maintain the building inventory list
  • Prioritize the capital renewal projects list
  • Project initiation for capital renewal projects
  • Monitor and report on the performance of City’s infrastructure and recommend improvement to corporate asset management
  • Assist in the coordination of projects with Infrastructure Assessment and Capital Renewal Planning teams
  • Various administrative duties including preparation of background materials and reports for meetings with other user groups, reviewing inventory and condition assessment information to support establishment of renewal
  • Conduct studies of maintenance practices on building systems and components, and recommend changes to improve efficiency and effectiveness of maintenance rehabilitation and repair strategies
  • Assist in the interpretation and effect of facility maintenance benchmark data specific to government, civic and associated buildings
  • Ensure infrastructure management is strategically linked with corporate initiatives
  • Participate in the development of a long-term sustainable infrastructure financial strategy
  • Use computer software (DSS) to prepare charts and graphs and to collect and manipulate data for the purpose of generating various types of reports and presentations
  • Complete, accurate and timely input of source data into SAP Plant Maintenance / Material Management
  • Assist in and conduct preparation of reports, present guidelines, standards and policies
  • Determine the most effective method of collecting, summarizing and evaluating field inspections and project results
  • Data and Information Processing Administration preparing various letters, reports and other documents utilizing DSS, Google applications, Excel, SAP, TRIRIGA, and Meridian
  • Qualifications

  • University degree in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Construction Management
  • Minimum of 2 years’ directly related working experience with asset inventory and assessment software
  • Knowledge of work methods, studies and analyses procedures, practices and terminology related facility infrastructure and maintenance
  • Knowledge of departmental and civic policies, regulations and operations related to facilities infrastructure and maintenance
  • Knowledge of simulation, modelling, operations research and statistical techniques
  • Skill in preparing technical reports and in making recommendations
  • Extensive knowledge of computer systems and processes. Experience in DSS, Google Applications, TRIRIGA and MERIDIAN will be considered an asset
  • Experience with SAP is required
  • Experience in ongoing research and development in asset management
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to coordinate multiple tasks under tight deadlines with minimal supervision
  • Strong ability to analyze data and information, derive results, and prepare reports for decision making
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presenting
