The Role :

  • Direct & oversee the entire quality program for the complete portfolio of manufactured products, with a focus on developing & promoting a Quality First culture within the organization
  • Leverage expertise to build, enhance, and maintain a first-class Quality Management system
  • Manage manufacturing site and corporate QA / QC activities required to meet food safety requirements, federal regulations, and corporate quality standards
  • Develop Yearly Quality Objectives, Quality Policies, and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Lead and manage all audit processes, both internal and external, driving successful outcomes
  • Direct all activities related to non-compliance, and make decisions regarding the hold or release of non-compliant product
  • Ensure effective management and retention of all documentation regarding Quality System Requirements
  • Enforce readiness and compliance of manufacturing site and laboratories, meeting all criteria for testing and product release schedules
  • Manage Quality Department resources and budget to meet business objectives
  • As a key member of the leadership team, maintain open communication with R&D, Operations, Sales & Marketing, and Regulatory Affairs
  • The Ideal Candidate :

  • BA / BS in a relevant technical field is required; MS or advanced degree in life sciences are desirable with any Quality Certifications a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of Food / Beverage Manufacturing, CFIA regulations for the Canadian market, and a solid command of product safety requirements for consumer products
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in QA / QC or corporate quality roles for consumer products, including a strong background in compliance requirements
  • Leadership experience in a Food / Beverage Manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems design, implementation and maintenance
  • Experienced in conducting facility and systems audits and in leading corrective action
  • Teams, including the preparation of SOP’s, deviations, investigations, etc.
  • Logical, analytical and reasonable, with strong organizational skills
  • Innovative problem-solving skills
  • Computer literate, competent in MS Office
