Scope :

As the Key Accounts Manager Food Service, you will plan, develop and coordinate sales activities to expand our sales with target operator Chain customers in Ontario.

Based in Toronto, the incumbent will develop customer growth strategies and plans that align to both Weston strategic goals and customer goals, as well as building and strengthening relationships with key customers.

The approach will be a consultative sale that combines selling, culinary and insights. The Key Accounts Manager will need to subscribe to a collaborative approach and be comfortable in a matrix organization.

Core accountabilities :

  • Focus efforts on developing Regional chain accounts within designated segments.
  • Successfully develop, maintain and oversee customer relations interacting with customers and proactively managing key issues / problems.
  • Use market and product knowledge to source and develop new and existing accounts through active prospecting, leads and leading customer ideation.
  • Be able to establish and grow senior level relationships with Key Customers.
  • Be willing to progress with accounts without the dependency on brokers or distributors.
  • Work closely with Customer, Sales Director, Sales Operations & Strategies, Marketing and Finance to develop and implement annual business plans designed to achieve sales objectives and organizational goals.
  • Identify and help implement a go-to-market strategy for new products and programs with target customers.
  • Develop a thorough working knowledge of all Weston baked goods and programs, and a complete awareness and understanding of the competition with regards to markets, products and trends.
  • Monitor the quality of our products and services to ensure customers are trained in the handling and care of their baked goods.
  • Maintain extensive regular contact with customers by following visitation schedule, identifying customer needs and following up in a timely fashion;
  • conduct sampling and training as needed.

  • Communicate regularly to management any relevant trends, issues, and opportunities.
  • About you :

  • 3-5 years of sales experience working in the food service business, including experience working with distributors, food service chain accounts and independent street business.
  • Core competence is proven experience and success building sustainable relationships with chain customers.
  • Ability to work independently and strong planning, analytical and organizational skills.
  • Excellent negotiating, assessment and analytical abilities.
  • Outstanding customer service, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills, with proficiency in Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint etc. Salesforce and Blacksmith experience are an asset.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to drive business results
  • Required to follow health and safety standards at all times.
  • Undergraduate degree, MBA an asset
