Job Description

The Logistics Management Analyst (LMA) / items Analyst Sr (IA) position is based at the Contractor Field Office (CFO) at 8 Wing Trenton, Ontario and will be responsible to the LMA Lead on all matters concerning logistics support to the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) C-130J aircraft fleet.

The primary function is to provide support to both Marietta, Georgia, U.S. logistics personnel and to the on-site LMA Lead.

The successful candidate will have a solid background in logistics support or supply chain management and be able to enforce contractual requirements while satisfying customer expectations.

This position requires a proactive approach to supply issues. Strong communication skills are necessary to work effectively amongst a dynamic group of internal and external customers.

The position is co-located within the customer's facility. The candidate will be working in a team environment and must demonstrate the ability to take direction from the logistics lead in the CFO and work with the CFO manager.

The IA assists in decision making related to day-to-day execution of the C-130J support contract. The position also serves as the secondary spokesperson for LM Marietta, representing LM Aero in the execution of the support contract and working in concert with the CFO, contractors and the customer.

The candidate will provide supply support services and support efforts such as audits and other forms of analysis of the inventory database to ensure its integrity and accuracy Establish a proactive approach to identify and mitigate supply related issues before they occur Deliver oral and written reports of data and / or status.

Duties include, but are not limited to :

  • Responsible for assuring inventory sufficiency with respect to mission requirements throughout the life cycle of supported systems.
  • Manages and controls the asset position of inventories, especially under the conditions of performance based logistics (PBL).
  • Makes and executes decisions to operating inventory to include suppliers, repair facilities and 3 PLs, including priority interpretation, inventory allocation and asset redistribution as necessary among sources of supply and military operating locations.
  • Responds to military service inquiries; supports requests for proposals and provisioning determinations; understands and uses various inventory optimization models;
  • forecasts and manages budget requirements; interfaces with company and DND information management systems; ensures fidelity of asset identification;
  • resolves technical and support problems for assigned classes of items by actively interfacing with engineering and suppliers;
  • prepares status reports and metrics relating to supplier performance and mission readiness.

    Required skills, qualifications and experience

  • Minimum education and experience : Bachelor s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline or equivalent experience / combined education with at least five years of professional experience
  • Demonstrate the ability to be a supply liaison between the on-site LM / CFO technical staff and the LM Aeronautics logistics team in Marietta
  • Exhibit the capacity to serve as the primary point of contact for supply in support of aircraft undergoing maintenance, ensuring schedules are met or exceeded
  • Dedication to monitor and provide status on back-order demands and items due for maintenance
  • Able to work with personnel from different organizations and lead meetings with internal and external customers
  • High level of comfort in dealing with technical discussions and a demonstrated ability to relay the information to civilian and service customers
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Able to work in a team environment
  • Experience in logistics or a supply related industry
  • Knowledgeable of the roles and responsibilities established by the current support contract; this is essential for making daily decisions regarding how the execution of the contract is performed
  • Desired skills, qualifications and experience

    Basic knowledge of SAP systems Basic knowledge of the C-130J aircraft RCAF supply experience
