What you will do?

The Compliance Specialist will support the Quality Management System requirements of the Fisher Scientific channel Quality Assurance Department in Canada.

The Department utilizes MasterControl as one of several systems to manage compliance activities. The Compliance Specialist will support the Department by acting as the administrator for the MasterControl system.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Act as Canadian Administrator for MasterControl which includes, but not limited to, Quality, Document, and Training Management system functions.
  • Author standard operating procedures and work instructions.
  • Develop training courses and facilitate the training of personnel in the use of systems and any enhancements and updates thereto.
  • Support the roll-out of MasterControl in other Fisher Scientific channel regions (as required)
  • Develop, implement and maintain database files and analysis for the Department.
  • Assist with Federal, state and local agency reporting requirements compliance (Health Canada, ISO, etc.)
  • Create database reports to review / support analysis related to regulated items.
  • Support and maintain intranet webpages for the Department.
  • Participate in internal / external audits
  • Support with various Quality, Regulatory and Compliance functions as may be required.
  • How will you get here?

    Education and Experience :

  • Bachelor of Science / Arts (or equivalent)
  • 2-3 years’ experience working in a quality assurance environment or regulated environment
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems. Familiarity with MasterControl is desirable.
  • Must possess excellent analytical skills with a high attention to details.
  • Experience with the following : Microsoft applications including Excel (with a proficiency in utilizing Vlookup functionality) and AccessCognosPC NetworksEnterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems
  • Must possess excellent communication, presentation and training skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn systems.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic, high pressure environment and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience coordinating or participating in an audit process
  • Experience liaising with internal / external customers as well as third party suppliers
