We are looking for the ideal candidate to fill the role of Junior Legal Operations Associate (maternity leave contract).
The Junior Legal Operations Associate supports the team in various legal capacities by coordinating with various functional areas of the business on legal and compliance-
related matters, organizing and managing all legal files, and drafting and reviewing certain legal documents.
Snapshot of Responsibilities
Responsible for certain templated agreements (including Non-Disclosure Agreements) from initial drafting through execution
Managing the Contract Management System including adding new agreements, tracking and addressing any deadlines or alerts and general reporting
Managing a contract precedent database and contract checklists
Preparing or assisting in the preparation of correspondence, presentations, reports and various legal documents
Interacting with all areas and all levels of the company, and liaising with external lawyers as required
Conducting legal research
Assisting with the company’s compliance program and other legal initiatives
Tracking and approving invoices from external law firms and other legal vendors
What you bring to the team :
Completion of University / College is required
Obtained or working towards a paralegal license is an asset
Previous experience in a legal setting is preferred, especially dealing with contracts
Exceptional communication and organizational skills
Strong document management and database skills
Attention to accuracy, detail and deadlines
Proficient Microsoft Office and Internet skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Proactive with a high level of energy and a commitment to learning
Capable of working individually and / or in a team setting
Ability to adapt and be flexible; positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills
