Job Overview :
The Instructional Designer will apply best practices in learning and development to conduct the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of interactive health and safety and technical training courses for the oil and gas industry.
Courses formats include self-study eLearning, virtual classroom, instructor-led classroom, and blended instruction.
Design and develop course content that support learning objectives, including hiring external vendors to develop supporting media.
Identify training needs for new and existing programs based on stakeholder engagement, legislation, and applicable data.
Develop assessment criteria (practical assessments, exams) to effectively measure that learning outcomes have been achieved.
Collaborate with Project Manager and project team to develop and implement training programs and materials.
Research and apply learning best practices to streamline processes and advance the effectiveness of training materials.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities :
Post-secondary education in instructional design, adult education, educational technology, educational psychology or related field.
M.Ed. or equivalent preferred)
3+ years’ experience in instructional design and development of e-learning, classroom based and blended training programs.
Experience working with a learning management system (Brightspace preferred).
Experience using various multimedia development products such as : Photoshop, Illustrator, and eLearning authoring applications.
Experience delivering instructor-led training an asset.
Extensive knowledge of instructional design theory (ADDIE) and its application to creating effective elearning and / or classroom training experiences.
Exemplary interpersonal skills and exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Well organized and able to handle multiple tasks quickly and accurately.
Goal orientated and able to meet deadlines.
Proficient in MS Office Suite.
