Position Overview :
We’re seeking an energetic, strategic Senior Sales Manager to join the Business Development team drive our results in Canada to new heights.
This individual must have experience in developing new relationships and maintaining existing relationships with utilities and municipalities in the Canadian market.
Lead business development activities to acquire affinity municipal and utility partners
Work with the Sr Director and VP to exceed business objectives by developing new pipeline opportunities through the expansion and growth of business relationships with new municipalities and utility partnerships in Canada with particular focus on the Western Provinces of British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba
Identify and build strong rapport with key decision makers
Lead prospects through the entire partnership development lifecycle including concept exploration, opportunity demonstration, contract negotiation, and program implementation
Develop and deliver comprehensive presentations to prospects, internal partners, and executive team members
Travel to prospect locations to interface and develop long-term business relationships with key staff at various levels
Participate in target industry associations, meetings and other networking opportunities
Responsible for actively utilizing salesforce.com to manage call / relationship management activities on a weekly basis
Collaborate and communicate regularly with other internal company departments
Qualifications / Skills :
Must have a minimum of 5 years sales experience
Ideal candidate will have prior experience in the municipal / utility sector
College / University degree preferred
Possess the ability to gather information on partner business processes / requirements, critical success factors, and competitive standing to deliver value-added business solutions
Experience building a pipeline and positioning opportunities to close
Strong analytical skills that enable the development and execution of a complete sales cycle
Must feel comfortable working in a dynamic cross-functional environment and be able to contribute to different divisions within the organization
Independent thinker, with good judgment and problem-solving skills
Must be capable of balancing general prospecting requirements, fulfilling partner needs and meeting company expectations / goals
Up to 40% travel including participation in industry events, company meetings and networking opportunities
Bi-Lingual (French and English) highly desired
