The Opportunity

Tweed is looking for an experienced, highly motivated, self-starter who can take the Extraction Development Engineer role to a new level.

  • Develop manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment;
  • conferring with equipment vendors.

  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Create detailed process drawings using engineering software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  • Provide process decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules;
  • estimating future requirements.

  • Prepares documentation in support of capital spending, comparisons of technologies & vendor proposals, cost estimating & control, schedules and timelines, equipment acceptance testing, validation and handover to operations.
  • Ensures compliance of practices, procedures and instructions relative to applicable facility standards (ISO, GMP, etc.);
  • Performs all other tasks as assigned by management.
  • Experience and Background

  • BS Degree or equivalent related experience in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering.
  • 2-3 years’ experience preferable in manufacturing, agricultural or pharmaceutical industry.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, including assembly and testing.
  • Proficiency in engineering computer software (CAD, CATIA, NX, SolidWorks etc.)
  • Must be a self-starter able to work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Strong planning and time management skills.
  • Solid project management skills.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.

    This is a full-time position based out of Smiths Falls.
