SUMMARY : In safe and efficient manner the Mechanic / Welder / Millwright the Durham York Energy Center will assess damage and repairs as needed.
Maintain conveyors, compressors, boilers, pumps, water treatment equipment, stokers, fans turbines, diesel engines, gear reducers, etc.
Fabricated and weld to a CWB standard platforms, chutes, and other non- pressure vessel code welding procedures. DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES :
Maintain a safe and clean work area at all times
Follow all Covanta Energy Corporation safety policies.
The inspection and maintenance work required for rotating machinery and equipment.
Inspect and adjust, as necessary, the mechanical alignment, balance, level, and general condition of conveyors, compressors, boilers, pumps, water treatment equipment, stokers, fans turbines, diesel engines, gear reducers, , and other rotating equipment throughout the plant and as required, check, repair, adjust, or replace couplings, bearings and mounts.
Fabricated and weld to a CWB standard platforms, chutes, and other non- pressure vessel code welding procedures. Do material layout use cutting torch effectively
Perform preventative maintenance tasks including routine vibration test, thermography & ultrasonic testing, and will actively participate in the periodic teardown and internal inspection of major equipment.
Use various shop equipment in the performance of his / her assigned tasks, such as the repair or rebuilding of sootblower drives, gearboxes, speed reducers, pumps and other assemblies.
Read and interrupt measuring tools, graphs technical manuals.
REQUIREMENTS (Education, Skills, Certificate, Licenses, Experience) : The position of Mechanic / Welder / Millwright requires at least five years’ experience in the repair and maintenance of mechanical equipment.
A high school education and / or formal technical or apprentice training is required. The candidate will have an Ontario Industrial Millwright certification and able to qualify for or hold a current Canadian Welding Bureau all position endorsement.
