  • Learn enterprise-wide architecture and design and apply appropriate test techniques, analyze complex requirements and develop and execute test cases within short development iterations
  • Ensure smooth QA operations and relations within a product team, and be the point of contact and escalation for other teams
  • Define complex testing strategies in partnership with development and QA subject matter experts to ensure the product being released is up to industry and company standards
  • Pro-actively liaise with distributed teams to execute end-to-end test plans, expedite troubleshooting and remove impediments within large integration projects
  • Evaluate the team throughout the SDLC to identify areas where improvement can be made, and take corrective action
  • Identify risks and create plans to mitigate. Identify new risks as testing phases are completed and create new mitigation plans on the fly
  • Report progress, plans, and problems to upper management and other involved parties throughout all phases of product development

  • Top Skills Required

  • 8+ years direct experience as a tester for major application integration projects or major application product releases
  • 5+ years as a Lead, QA with experience on 3+ large-scale integration projects
  • 4+ years direct experience in the design, development and implementation of QA Best Practices
  • Experience with balancing the priorities and activities of the manual testing of sprint features versus the continued maintenance and growth of automated regression suites
  • Superlative communication skills. Ability to ask the right questions to gain understanding of the inner workings of the team, lower environments usage, release schedule, and the systems under development
  • Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills, advanced technical, application / system troubleshooting skills with the ability to think clearly and resolve issues efficiently under pressure
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills with high attention to detail in a demanding, deadline-driven environment
  • Excellent coaching, listening, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
  • Direct hands-on experience developing and maintaining automated test cases using Selenium, Cucumber, TestNG and Junit would be an asset
  • Strong technical skills using one or multiple programming languages, such as Java would be an asset
  • College diploma or university degree in software engineering, computer science or business administration or equivalent
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
