What Would You Do?

Palliser Furniture Upholstery Ltd. is currently seeking an energetic and dedicated individual to fill the role of Payment Administrator .

The successful candidate will be part of the Credit Department and responsible for providing administrative support services to the department in all areas of payment application.

The duties and responsibilities of this position would include :

  • Posting and reconciling daily checks, lockbox, wires and credit card payments.
  • Reviewing and resolving Bank Merchant transaction discrepancies.
  • Reconciling bank accounts.
  • Preparing bank deposit for checks received by mail.
  • Posting deposits and claims.
  • Lockbox receipts and payment allocations.
  • Processing VISA and Mastercard payments and authorizations.
  • Sending weekly cash reporting to Finance.
  • Continuous maintenance of Lodgement sheets for each cashbook.
  • Month-end reconciliations.
  • Coordinate incoming / outgoing mail, couriers.
  • What Do You Bring?

  • Completion of Grade 12; preference will be given to those with educational background in Accounting.
  • 1 year of experience in an accounting preferably in a credit / collections environment.
  • General accounting knowledge regarding payment application.
  • Experience working in a computerized office environment.
  • Excellent communication skills with verbal and written fluency in English.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong mathematical skills an asset.
  • Data entry experience (minimum of 40 wpm).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of the AS400, IFM, Microsoft Word, Excel, MC2, Outlook.
  • Some physical requirements (boxing year end files for storage).
