Job Overview

We are recruiting for a Project Manager II to contribute to Wawanesa’s success by delivering small to large sized information services projects, ensuring time, budget, and quality objectives are met.

As the Project Manager, you will manage a project providing technical project leadership, support, knowledge, and experience.

You bring a willingness to do what it takes to get projects done in a timely and accurate manner. You build exceptional relationships with both your immediate and cross-functional teams, and thrive in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Create, execute, and monitor project management plans and schedules.
  • Manage scope, risks, and issues throughout the project life cycle.
  • Obtain appropriate skilled resources and coordinate project activities for successful delivery.
  • Create and manage project financials to track costs and control spending.
  • Manage quality of delivered solution, ensuring all project objectives are met.
  • Follow project standards and IS department established methodologies.
  • Maintain project repository to enhance communication, allow for tracking, and ensure transparency.
  • Create and communicate status reporting to all required parties.
  • Manage relationships and work efforts of third party vendors and consultants.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

  • 4 years’ experience managing large, complex, and strategic projects.
  • Formal project management training from a recognized college / university.
  • Agile experience, traning / methodoly / experience is considered a strong asset
  • Completion of post-secondary education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience using various project management methodologies and project management tools.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Technology principles (Architecture / Application Development / Quality Assurance / Service Delivery).
  • Communicates in a persuasive and eloquent manner to all levels of audience, effectively facilitates sessions, and delivers powerful presentations.
  • Ability to support high team morale by encouraging others to be excited, motivated, and enthusiastic about project activities and outcomes.
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive plans that bridge complex issues, monitors performance, and keeps work on track.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to continuously identify and action strategic opportunities for the project team and organization.
  • Project Management Professional certification is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience in Property & Casualty Insurance industry is considered an asset
