We are currently seeking a Facilities Manager to join our team.

The Facilities Manager will oversee all the operation and maintenance of all Gardewine buildings through a team of maintenance technicians and approved contractors.

  • The Facilities Manager will ensure that the all Gardewine properties, are safe at all times for employees, contractors, visitors and vendors;
  • and are maintained in a cost effective manner.

    Key Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise, train and develop team members and ensure Safe work procedures and practices are followed
  • Delegate and oversee the facilities maintenance electronic ticketing system to ensure timely execution of all repairs and maintenance
  • Ensure all regulatory obligations relating to facilities are completed in consultation with the Director of Maintenance
  • Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are completed as per signed contracts
  • Foster contractor relationships to maximize workload and service time, while minimizing costs
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment and buildings.
  • Coordinate the Preventative maintenance and repair of all HVAC operating systems
  • Plan work schedules, ensuring adequate service and staffing requirements
  • Ensure that maintenance jobs are completed in accordance with all corporate policies and government regulations
  • Manage inventory of tools and supplies to reduce risk, loss and damage
  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    Responsible for leading, managing and supervising a maintenance team that includes employees, contractors, vendors, and temporary labourers.

    Qualifications

    Five years of experience working in a multiple building organization leading a team. Ideally, you have post-secondary education as a Certified Engineering Technician or related discipline.

    Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, work under pressure and manage critical and unplanned events.

    Strong interpersonal skills to foster and build working relationships with business unit leaders in addition to vendors, contractors, and suppliers.

    Experience using all Microsoft Office programs and other software programs is necessary. A thorough understanding of Manitoba’s Building Codes and requirements, as well as working knowledge of WHMIS and Canada Labour Code Part II.
